Websites and Content that Recruit Learners

Five days on the website an adult education provider needs: the pages that convert, the words a search engine can find, and the parts you can maintain yourself.

Who it is for

Staff who own or commission their organisation's website and are tired of depending on an agency for every change.

What you will be able to do

  • Audit your own site against what a prospective learner needs from it.
  • Write a course page that answers the questions people actually ask.
  • Do the search work that does not need a specialist.
  • Brief a developer so that you get what you asked for.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    What your site is for

Walking your own site as a stranger would. Where people leave, and why.

  2. Day 2

    The course page

The page that does the work. Structure, proof, price and the enquiry form.

  3. Day 3

    Being found

How search works for a local provider, what to fix this month, and what is not worth your time.

  4. Day 4

    Doing it yourself

Editing safely in a content system, images that do not slow the page down, and the accessibility basics.

  5. Day 5

    Working with suppliers

Writing a brief, reading a quote, and knowing what you own when the relationship ends.
