Social Media and Storytelling for Institutions

Five days on building an institution's own voice online, and keeping it going with the hours a small team actually has.

Who it is for

Anyone who has been handed their organisation's social media accounts alongside another job.

What you will be able to do

  • Decide which platforms your organisation should be on, and which to leave.
  • Write in a voice that is institutional without being lifeless.
  • Build a content calendar you can sustain for a whole term.
  • Handle a complaint or a mistake in public.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    What the account is for

Recruitment, reputation, community or reporting — they need different content. Choosing one, and dropping the rest.

  2. Day 2

    Voice

Finding a register between the press release and the meme. We rewrite your own recent posts.

  3. Day 3

    Making things without a studio

Photography, short video and graphics with a phone and free tools. A shooting session in Warsaw.

  4. Day 4

    The calendar

A term's plan built around what your organisation already does, so content follows the work instead of inventing itself.

  5. Day 5

    When it goes wrong

Complaints, corrections, and the account that has gone quiet. Each participant writes a short response policy.

What the fee covers

  • The written programme, with learning outcomes and hours
  • Trainers, room and materials in Warsaw
  • An attendance certificate, and the host section of your Europass Mobility document
